yeddy   -    clever (heady literally, like brainy)

yeld   -    N. Cheshire = a hill S.Cheshire = only as a place                      name. Also appears as Heald 

yip-yap, yip-yop   -    an upstart (yob?)

yobbins   -    rows, uproars, yells

yocha, yoffa   -    to laugh "I towd 'im he'd better mind what                               he was doin', else he'd find himsel wrang; b                           ur he on'y yocha'd at me" (a bit like guffaw) 

yon   -     anything at a distance, but visible

yonnack   -    a fool, mad-brained person

yorkshire    -     cajolery, blarney, attempt to hood-wink or                               deceive "Let's ha' none o' yur Yorkshire!" 

yowth   -      a male person of any age
